Statement by Chairmen

It is with disappointment and heavy hearts that we have made the decision to relieve Slaven Bilic of his duties as West Ham United manager.
Since joining the Club in the summer of 2015, Slaven has conducted himself throughout with honesty and integrity, and shown great determination and commitment to the role.
In his first season - our final campaign at the Boleyn Ground - he led the team to a memorable finish that no Hammers fan will ever forget, and gave us a 3-2 victory against Manchester United in our final home game there that will go down in West Ham United history.
During the summer, the Board invested heavily signing the players Slaven believed would complete the squad he needed to push the Club back towards the level we had reached in his first season, and we believe we have the players capable of doing that.
Sadly, performances and results have not been of the expected standard and, in recent weeks, we have not seen enough indication of the required improvement to give us the encouragement that things would change and we would meet our Premier League aspirations this season.
As custodians of the Football Club it is our responsibility as a Board to do what is best for West Ham United, and we believe a change is now necessary to ensure we can begin to move the team back in the right direction.
We see this as an exciting opportunity to appoint a quality manager to the position to inject fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm into a very talented squad.
We would like to thank Slaven for his efforts and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours. He will always be welcome at London Stadium, as a former player and manager who always gave everything for the Club. We would also like to place on record our sincere thanks to the team of coaches that assisted him.
We will now focus our entire efforts on bringing in the manager we believe can get the best out of the current squad of players and steer the Club towards the top half of the table as quickly as possible.

BradyWest Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady was the director who sacked Slaven Bilic yesterday morning at Rush Green Training ground. The Baroness met with Bilic in which club sources say was a ‘very respectful meeting’.
David Sullivan and David Gold were absent from the meeting although the board had previously spoken on the phone to agree unanimously that he was time for a change. As with all these things, solicitors and Human Resources were involved but we are told that Slaven accepted his fate graciously and was a gentleman to the end while the club showed compassion throughout the process.
ClaretandHugh understand that Bilic will walk away with around £2m in compensation after the club terminated his contract early while his backroom team of Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic, Julian Dicks and Miljenko Rak pick up around £1m in compensation for the early termination of their contracts.

More likely that Bilic knew before and she arrived to have papers, drafted first thing, signed - reports suggest she was there very briefly and I suspect that they will have wanted various confidentiality clauses and consequential settlements that would have taken longer to thrash

Willtell - It's true, she was there and was seen. But don't agree it makes Sullivan a coward. You seriously think Sullivan, a hard nosed businessman, would be worried about telling Bilic he is fired, even when Bilic knew the game was up and wanted to go? Don't be fucking stupid. He is the owner so has other people to do this type of thing. Do you think Abramovich personally tells all his managers they are fired? Is he a coward too?

....is particularly distressing, both in what obviously happened, (SHIT INVESTMENT), and what is clearly not going to happen any time soon, (ANY IMPRESSIVE INVESTMENT).
For all the justified complaints about previous owners, how they were cheapskates and part time asset strippers, none of them have been as busy interering directly in what the manager does, or tries to do.
I can see how things looked pretty bleak, and why Bilic perhaps (ONLY PERHAPS) needed to be sacked, I can't help but feel he's been let down, for ages.
These chancers need to be very lucky in what happens from now on, or the fans will look back on not only having our home sold off to be made into yuppie kennels, but also for fucking over the kind of honest and passionate gentlemen, who thinks of the fans first. That's why he won so much patience from the fans.

I couldn't agree more. You need to sell up, fuck off and let us all move on from your pitiful leadership.
Your tenure at our club has been one embarrassment after another. Every transfer window you make our toes curl in our shoes with your inane Tweets and comments in the press. Every time we hear you say there’s going to be a “big signing” we cringe. Why? Because we know there won’t be. We know it’ll be some past his best, marking time till retirement player or some international that has never really done anything in the Premier League or not unusually someone the majority of us have ever really heard of.
When you do, by pure luck, find someone good, they last a couple of seasons then disappear off with the money or “profit” from their departure spent on more of the above.
We’re sick of the way you run our club. We’re sick of the way you represent our club. We’re sick of you.
You’re incompetence is turning us into a laughing stock. You’re dismantling everything; running the club into the ground and making too many of us wonder when and where it will end. It’s only our complete loyalty that’s keeps us coming week in week out, supporting the club we love.
If you genuinely care about the club and have any respect for it's thousands of fans you’ll leave. You’ll leave now.
No-one is bigger than the club. That includes the owners and board.
